Barclays Credit card department,
Billing statement Pennsylvania
Credit card company only provides 20-day grace period for credit card payment due date ( calculated from statement closing date -, instead of the 21-days required under federal law ( from statement mailing date ). Also, statements are mailed out late, since they take over 7 days from the statement closing date for me to receive, and USPS first class mail only takes 2-3 days. The 21-day federal minimum is supposed to apply from the date the statement is actually MAILED, which is why most credit card companies have a 25+ day grace period. Even if they mailed out my statement ending - - 2015, on that SAME DAY, I still have 21 days to pay by federal law ( not 20 days ). My - - payment was made on the 21st day after the statement CLOSING date, but was still considered 1 day late, and interest charges for the entire previous month were assessed! Their due date practice of 20-days after statement closing date is illegal and deceptive.
