In -, I purchased my duplex condo through - - -. At the purchase agreement signing I was told that the original HOA had been dissolved and that an agreement would exist between me and the adjoining condo to maintain the property. I did n't question this until - when the adjoining condo went into foreclosure and I assumed the costs of maintaining the entire structure and property. In - I knew I would be retiring soon and looked for a realtor to sell my property. I approached - realtors over a year and none would agree to represent me as I was underwater and had no existing HOA agreement. I attempted to refinance to lower interest rate and did not qualify because I was $60000.00. underwater and there was no HOA agreement. - more condos on my block foreclosed bringing comparables to a third of my purchase price. Green Tree Servicing took over my mortgage in -. In - I stopped making payments and found a realtor who would try a short-sale. I found a buyer but the property was foreclosed on before the paperwork at the bank was completed.
