U.S. Bancorp Consumer loan department,
Vehicle lease Managing the loan or lease Maryland
My husband recently received an end of lease inspection from U.S. Bank for a - -. This was our - vehicle lease but - through U.S. Bank so we have - times prior gone through a lease inspection with no charges imposed for ordinary wear and tear. I am an -. In my opinion, the lease inspection was a joke and this particular institution is improperly using the inspection process as a profit center. Damage that was clearly ordinary wear and tear ( minute scratches on bumpers ) was categorized as excessive. A small dent on a passenger door valued at $1500.00. Most ridiculous, a $200.00 charge for a missing car manual which was actually present ( in the glove compartment ). Apparently blind to the obvious, the inspector never even asked if my husband had the manual. A U.S. Bank customer service representative said we would be charged for the manual, even if returned with the vehicle, unless we took the additional step of ensuring the dealer wrote the bank a letter confirming that the manual was present. This is a ridiculous shifting of the burden of proving damage. A quick internet search indicates that there are many complaints that U.S. Bank is inventing '' damage and collecting excessive fees for ordinary wear and tear. A complaint letter I drafted to - -, General Counsel at U.S. Bank, went unanswered.
