Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan North Carolina

I have tried several times to work with my lender on repayment options for years now. None of my efforts have been successful. I have proven to be a loyal customer by making almost all of my payments on time and in full over the passed five years, yet my principal balance has never been touched because my interest is so high. The majority of people I talk to are rude, condescending, and do not listen well. I feel as though there is no sympathy or flexibility in offering a strategic plan that I can afford. I have shown I am capable of making payments consistently as it is a priority I have set for myself, yet there is no help when I am in need of help. I call to negotiate and it is written off completely because it 's against their law. They have been bailed out yet they will not 'help ' out their customers in need. They have made rude comments like,


If we cut you some slack then we would have to help everyone and would have lawsuits for days ''. I do not appreciate being talked to like I am a criminal, 'less than ', or stupid. They may train their employees to be rude and harsh in situations where people can not pay their monthly amount, but I am person and their customer and deserve to be treated better. Part of the reason big banks were bailed out is because they handed out - dollars in loans with astronomically high interest rates to ignorant, uneducated - students. Now, some of these people are graduated, - dollars in debt, and are putting forth effort to try to pay down these loans, yet no private lender is willing to help.
