Barclay 's bank issued a new - - - card to me in 2015 that I did not request and then sent it to the wrong address along with subsequent statements and eventual termination notice. I live at - - - but the account was associated with my name at - - - By the time I learned of the issue the account had already been closed for nonpayment. The representative I spoke to on the phone told me that nobody I could speak with on the phone could reverse the negative impact on my credit report once an account had been closed. The agent also confirmed for me that no purchases had been made on the card but that I had been assessed an annual fee that then accumulated interest + late fees and eventual closure of the account. I obviously can not be expected to respond to correspondence that is not sent to my correct address, let alone pay an annual fee for a credit card that I did not request or use.
