I mailed a request for validation to Portfolio Acceptance, LLC on -/-/-. In my -/-/- letter I specifically asked that Portfolio provide me with an explanation of how the alleged balance was calculated, proof this debt was not time-barred and a copy of the original account level paperwork that contained my signature. Portfolio responded by way of letter dated -/-/- by simply providing a copy of an - statement for the period of -/-/- to -/-/- showing an alleged balance of $1400.00. Portfolio again responded on -/-/- by providing a summary of their electronic file stating an alleged balance of $1800.00, refusing to respond to my dispute due to their alleged prior response and requesting that I provide them with additional information. To date, I have not received ( i ) a calculation of how they arrived at the balance of this alleged debt, ( ii ) an explanation of how their claimed amount in excess of the alleged original balance is authorized by the agreement creating this debt or is permitted by law, ( iii ) nor have I received any documentation containing my signature that show I agreed to pay this amount. It is my belief that Portfolio has not conducted a reasonable investigation of my dispute.
