The adverse account on my credit report is from AFNI and it is for the original creditor -. I never received any contact information from - or AFNI regarding this delinquent account. They are now claiming I owe $230.00 which I was uninformed about from 2013. I contacted AFNI to ask them about it and they claim they sent out some letters in the mail. I asked if they were certified because I never received any such letter from them and do not believe they sent them because I never received a single one from them or -. They said they do n't send certified mail because it cost too much. I informed them all I wanted was the account deleted and if it was correct I would not mind paying it off as long as it was deleted, but I felt it was unfair to report that to the credit agency because I was unaware of it and never received any information about it up until this point in time. I have an excellent credit history and they now refuse to delete it from my account.
