I have - accounts listed on my credit report by a collection agency called Portfolio Recovery Associates ''. I have disputed both with - and the response was a remark on my report indicating - ; & gt ; PLACED FOR COLLECTION & lt ;. Under loan type - are listed as FACTORING COMPANY ACCOUNT ''? I have no idea what that is or what it means. I have requested documentation such as signed documentation that these are my accounts as well as payment history to show where they came up with the dollar amounts listed. Neither - nor Portfolio Recovery Associates have provided any documentation. Simply the notation on my credit report that the investigation is complete. How does a collection agency get to throw items on your credit report without any documentation whatsoever? What recourse do consumers like myself have?
