I received a letter in the mail from MCM/Midland Credit Management, INC 0N -/-/- advising me that they are the new owners of a debt they say I owe in the amount of --.I called and spoke to a associate and he asked me for the account number, I provided it, and then he asked me if I was calling to make a payment, I advised him I dispute this debt, and he told me I have to dispute it in writing.I sent out a LETTER ON -/-/-, I was told that if I do n't pay this it will be reported to the credit bureaus.I told him not to call me.This account was purchased by Asset Acceptance and they also harassed and threatened me.This account was opened in -/-/- with - and paid, I had - months no interest .I am not sure how many companies have attempted to collect this money I do not owe, but it has been several.
