My daughter is in her - year of - at - - - and the University of - in -, T-. She has taken out a number of loans from various financial companies to finance her - education, including - - Loans and Citibank. She has always been prompt in asking for deferral or forbearance until she completes her program. Recently, she discovered that - of her loans with Citibank had been sold to - and then, in a very short period of time, resold back to Citibank, declared delinquent and then turned over to a collection agency. At that time, the debt collectors then began calling me to demand payment of the full amount. No one at any time contacted me about the past due status of the loans, nor did they contact her either by phone, voice mail or letter. The fact that the loans changed hands - during this time frame has made communications very difficult and confusing. I should note that - has loans with Citibank that ARE in deferral, adding to our frustration and confusion. Both my daughter and I fully intend to honor the debts. Had Citibank or - acted in good faith and communicated adequately at all, this would have been avoided. All we ask in this complaint is that the - loans be removed from delinquent status, that - be allowed to pay the past due amounts and that repayment of the remainder of the - loans be deferred until she completes her program in - 2016. I would also ask that my credit reports from the reporting agencies be repaired by removing these delinquencies.
