- - - approved a short sale on our home in - of 2011. - of the conditions of the approval was that we sign a promissory note for $5000.00 to be paid in installments of $83.00 per month. - was to send a coupon book to make such payments and never did so. I inquired by phone several times and - could find no record of this transaction or the note. The next year after no reminder, bill from them, or anything, they reported as written off as bad dept on our credit report. We served our time with bad credit for that, as well as the shortsale itself. Now 5 years later, we are divorced, credit has improved greatly, they turn over to real time solutions for collection. They contact ONLY my ex husband, not me, and hit my credit for 90 days past due. There were forwarding addresses for both us registered with the post office. My ex husband has negotiated with real time to reduce this amount to $1500.00. He wants me to pay half to him. I feel - - - is at fault here as they never sent the method of payment that they promised. Never a reminder or bill, as if it did n't exist. No record of it when I called to inquire. How do I know if this real time is a bogus outfit or not. It has been a long time ago. Is there no statute of limitations? I am attaching the documents provided to me from my now, ex husband.
