TransUnion Credit Reporting Complaint

Credit monitoring or identity protection account terms and changes

TransUnion Credit reporting department,

Credit monitoring or identity protection Account terms and changes Maryland

I have - complaints about all - major credit bureaus ( -, - and Trans Union ), that show they are not taking the proper precautions to protect individual 's identities, and have practices that cause consumers who have been victims of identify theft to pay for services that they are entitled to get for free. 1 ) All - are using very outdated SSL security on the websites that one must use to enter social security information, which means an unsophisticated attacker can easier capture SSNs in transit. 2 ) In order to get a free credit freeze when consumers who have proof of identity theft MUST send that proof by regular mail, which includes the consumer 's SSN, to a - for all - bureaus, with an address that includes the bureau 's name and credit freeze '' in the address name. This makes identify theft through the postal mail extremely easy! The postal service loses large quantities of mail each year. Also, this means it will take more time to place the credit freeze due to waiting for regular mail to make it to/from the credit monitoring bureau. For those reasons, I felt the need to pay for the freeze service that I was entitled to get for free. AND, I could not find any place on any of their websites where I could contact them to raise these issues.
