Checking account Problems caused by my funds being low
Synovus Bank Bank account or service department,
Checking account Problems caused by my funds being low Georgia
- ( Synovus ) charged my account - separate fees of $36.00 totaling $210.00 plus a separate fee of $35.00 the next day. The $35.00 fee was described as a continuous overdraft charge. On -/-/-, I had an electronic transaction in the amount of $370.00 presented to the bank. However, I had dated the transaction for -/-/-. When I saw the bank had prematurely processed the transaction, I immediately deposited $400.00 to cover the charge. The electronic transaction plus - small transactions were still pending when the deposit was made. On following business day, the bank charged me the $210.00 for the - small transactions. These - small transactions were arranged by the bank in the order to where the large transaction was paid first followed by the small - transactions. This was done in order to maximize the number of overdraft fees. The bank 's response was that electronic transactions are always paid first and it was just a coincidence '' that the electronic transaction was larger. However, I have evidence that this is not the case in where I have had a larger debit card transaction paid ahead of smaller electronic transaction previously. Synovus has a history of the practice of acting in bad faith by processing transactions in an order that would net them the most in overdraft fees as seen in the lawsuit - v. Synovus Bank. Synovus paid - - to settle this lawsuit just last year.
