Bank of America hired a firm to sue consumer in Texas and obtained a default judgment. Consumer was unaware of debt or lawsuit until - when the judgment prevented consumer from obtaining mortgage financing. Consumer attempted to resolve the debt but was unable to obtain any information. Consumer hired attorney to assist. In - attorney contacted Texas law firm representing Bank of America and after - months of repeated requests for copies of the summons, complaint, default judgment and any statement for the account, no documentation was provided and Bank of America took back the account. For the next - months attorney attempted to obtain documentation from Bank of America without success. A CFPB complaint was filed, and no response was provided. Bank of America refuses to provide any information about the account to any party and are unable to validate the debt.
