GE Capital Retail Credit card department,
I have an account with Care Credit ( Synchrony Bank ) for various - related expenses. Their claim is pay within the stated time frame and there is no interest. I have - separate promotional balances I am paying and all - have different expiration dates ie, the date where no interest will be incurred if the balance is completely paid on that promotion. I received a statement last month stating a balance was due to expire ( ( $540.00 ) and I sent $300.00 expecting I would send another $300.00 this month - pay off that balance and apply some money to another balance that is not due to expire until next year. Instead, they split my payment and applied only $100.00 to the expiring balance making my payment this month $430.00. When I called them, I was told my payment would actually be $430.00 plus $210.00 ( the minimum balance ) to avoid interest charges on this particular promotion. This is outrageous and intentionally sets consumers up to 'fail ' so that they incur all these interest charges.
