A debt collector, Portfolio Recovery Associates LLC ( PRA ), has been attempting to collect a debt arising from a debt I allegedly owe - - from about the year -/-/-. Prior to -/-/-, PRA had made numerous phone calls to my home phone. Most calls went to my voicemail ( often no message was left ). On -, PRA called me again, this time I answered. After the caller identified himself and the alleged debt he wanted to collect, I informed him that I was NOT willing to make payment on - - 's behalf, and to STOP calling me about this matter. On - -, I wrote PRA a letter stating that any further collection attempts would not elicit any payment from me, and directing PRA to stop communicating with me about this matter, regardless of the form of communication. I sent the letter Certified Mail, and verified with the - Postal Service that PRA received the letter on - -. On - -, I received via - a communication dated - - from PRA again attempting to collect on behalf of - -. Please note this is AFTER PRA received my letter on - -.
