U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
After I had paid the $75.00 annual fee for my - visa card ( issued by US Bank ), the benefits of the credit card were changed and severely devalued. - of the key benefits of the card that convinced me to pay the annual fee was the fact that I would get - free night at a - hotel whenever I redeemed points for an award stay. However -/US Bank abruptly ended this benefit and changed the terms of the halfway through my - year of having the card without providing any compensation. If I had known that I would n't be receiving this benefit for the full year, I would not have applied for this card or paid the annual fee. When I contacted US Bank they falsely stated that customers had been informed of this impending change before the annual fee was charged ( we were not - customers were only notified in -, after my annual fee was paid ), and they refused to refund the annual fee or reinstate the benefit. They offered only a very small compensation in the form of points, an offer that did not nearly compensate for the lost value of the benefit or the annual fee.
