GE Capital Retail Credit card department,
I have a Bp Visa credit card from -. I was notified in -, 2015, that the credit card was being transitioned to another to another bank. I was told to continue to use the credit card until a new card was mailed in -. The bill for the - - - card came -/-/15. As has been my practice, I scheduled the payment from my checking account to be deducted -/-/15 ; I also received a - digit transaction number for the scheduled payment. As I review my checking account activity on a daily basis, I noticed the payment had not been deducted. On -/-/15, I checked the - credit card account online and was denied access. I contacted the card 's customer Service and was told the scheduled payment had been cancelled by - on -/-/15 ; the agent acknowledged that no notice had been given by -. I requested the card balance and was informed of that a $25.00 late fee had been assessed against my account. I complained and the late fee was removed from the card. My complaint is - fold. First, the scheduled payment was cancelled by - and I received no notification - no E-Mail, phone call, etc. Secondly, a late fee was charged to my account. I consider these actions by - to be irresponsible, unethical, and illegal. Had I not been proactively reviewing my accounts, I never would have known of the transition and late fee charge. A question : how many other - - - card customers are being treated in the same manner, and being assessed inappropriate banking charges?
