Portfolio Recovery is attempting to collect a debt I supposedly owe from 2006. They have repeatedly called me, even when I asked not to. They tell me they do n't have to stop, even when I told them the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act prohibits debt collectors from using abusive, unfair, or deceptive practices to collect from me. I told them to only contact me by letter, that further phone calls would be considered harassment. The first caller would never admit that they would stop. He also never gave a definite yes on a recorded line that they would cease phone communication. They dance around the legality and will hang up. These Portfolio Recovery people are -.
