Citibank Bank Account Or Service Complaint

Savings account Account opening, closing, or management

Citibank Bank account or service department,

Savings account Account opening, closing, or management Texas

Citibank Texas NA was sold to - - - on - -, 2015. On - -, 2015 I visited the branch on - - - T- and learned that the bank was being sold. Due to my personal needs and my desired relationship with Citibank I wanted to know how to not have my accounts sold. I was told that I had the right to opt out and was provided a form to sign for that specific purpose. I was not provided a copy of this signed document by the branch employee ( I was in an office not at a teller window ). Part of my relationship with Citibank is access to money via their Citigroup while I am - or not located near a bank. I do not have this option with - - - and knew that I would encounter difficulty accessing my monies. On - - while logged into my online banking I became aware that my savings account was not showing up. I learned by calling the customer service center that - of my - accounts with Citibank was in fact sold to - - - even though I had signed the opt out. To date I have spent 15 hours trying to resolve this issue. I have been on the phone to the - response team more than - occasion. The financial hardships, fees and costs related to this event are still accumulating. As a result of losing my direct deposit savings account - my Citibank account was charged a service charge it had never incurred the entire 4 years of my account. This caused the account to overdraw subsequently causing a NSF reporting to this account. Although Citibank refunded the monies associated to these charges my credit has been marred from its perfect internal status to one of now having a negative reflection. Citibank violated my privacy rights and forced me into a banking relationship that I never wanted. Citibank has now shared my personal financial information to a bank that had no right to ever know or see that information.
