We contacted Midland Credit Management to settle outstanding credit card debt, which they purchase for the original creditor. Midland Credit Management sent us settlement letters, with settlement amounts. We purchased cashier checks in the amount requested and returned copies of their settlement letters with checks in the amount of the agreed settlement payments via certified mail. A few weeks later we were contacted by Midland Credit Management who stated we would need to pay the settle amounts again, because payment was not received in a timely manner. In good faith we made payments as Midland Credit Management requested and still we continue to receive phone calls and letters. Midland Credit Management did not return the payments and is refusing to show the debt as paid to the credit agencies.
