Other (phone, health club, etc.) Disclosure verification of debt Not given enough info to verify debt Virginia
I pulled my own credit report on - -, -. American Collection Enterprises , Inc. ( ACEI ) of -, VA is reporting a debt to Equifax from a childcare company that I used in -/-/-. I am aware of the childcare company, and used that company, but was not aware that there was an outstanding balance. During my call, I advised ACEI that I was not aware of the debt and asked if there was something they could provide me regarding the debt. I was told by the ACEI rep that they do n't have to provide me with anything because something was sent to me in -/-/-. Further, their rep stated that since they are reporting it on my credit report every month, that is all the verification they are required to provide. I advised them that it is now 5 years after the supposed letter was sent to me, that I never received it, and asked if they could please send me something, anything, that indicates I owe the debt. I was refused again and referred to the fact that they only have to report it on my credit report. I sent a certified letter asking for more information and the letter is thus far undeliverable. I used the address as found on the Better Business Bureau. They provide no address whatsoever on their website, only a form to fill out. I am only requesting they provide the minimum amount of information that verifies that the original creditor ' says I still owe this debt. I believe that I do not. I do n't feel that simply reporting it on my credit report is proof of anything. If they ca n't provide this information, then I would like them to remove the entry from my credit report. I have also reached out to the daycare company via email ( one that I retrieved directly from their website ) and it was returned undeliverable.
