Bank of America Credit Card Complaint

Balance transfer

Bank of America Credit card department,

Balance transfer Virginia

My husband is a - with limited education. He went to Bank of America to open up a single checking account. He wound up opening - checking accounts and a credit card. He was not even aware that he had opened - separate checking accounts. For the credit card, the BOA representative arranged to transfer $600.00 from the credit card into our joint checking account. My husband was unaware of this and in fact went back the next day to ask that the card be cancelled. The teller said he would make a note of it in his file and cancel the card the next day. I had n't noticed the deposit into our account ( or had assumed it was from a check ) and we only found out about the balance on the credit card, the $18.00 transfer fee and 22.99 % interest rate when the statement came today. We will pay the balance immediately and close the card, but expect to be reimbursed for the $18.00 transfer fee and any additional interest charges. Although the statement is in - my husband really did n't understand it or even recognize he owed money on the card. The card

A teller at a major bank said she is expected to sell - new checking, savings, or debit card accounts every day. If she falls short, she gets written up. - I believe that by demanding employees sell '' a certain number of accounts per day, especialIy in locations catering to those with low income, BOA is engages in predatory lending to people who do not understand the consequences of these accounts ( generally poor, - or - with limited literacy skills ). The tellers face a choice : lose their source of income or jeopardize the finances of others.
