TransUnion Credit reporting department,
Credit monitoring or identity protection Billing dispute Missouri
I went online to receive my FREE credit score & $1.00 credit report ''. I was also, unbeknownst to me, signed up for credit monitoring etc, at the rate of $17.00. I feel like this is a shady and fraudulent practice, because I was allegedly aware of the product I signed up for based on size - font in a noticed designed to look like an advertisement on the bottom right of the screen, that was n't even part of my browser window without scrolling. I called the company to dispute the claim. It took me awhile to unsubscribe and they refused to refund my money since I had used the service ( I had to log in to find a phone number to call ) and had been made aware of the service on the - screen of the process. Very shady and I want to say fraudulent practice, since I did not knowingly give them permission to charge me for the service, nor did they provide any paper work or notification that I had signed up for a trial-turned-paid service. It really - that the company that is used to protect you against fraud is fraudulent itself. What I authorized for purchase was a $1.00 for a free '' credit report.
