Barclays Credit card department,
Barclay 's Bank, issuer of USAir MasterCard, continues to make harassing collection calls ( twice today already -/-/- ) for an unauthorized charge and late charges on the closed account of my elderly mother with whom I hold power of attorney despite:1 ) original charge disputed in writing on -/-/- and card cancelled by consumer in - -. ( Item was refused, unopened and returned to merchant ) 2 ) Merchant - rebilled on - -, - the refused, returned and unopened item from the - -, - charge although the card was already cancelled in -/-/-,3 ) The -/-/- rebill charge was disputed in writing on -/-/-,4 ) complaint submitted to CFPB on -/-/- ( # - ) 5 ) We did not even have contact information for the merchant until a new solicitation was received in -/-/- despite asking Barclay 's Bank for contact information for the merchant on several occasions verbally and in writing ( -/-/- and -/-/- ). Once I had a telephone number, I called - on -/-/- to dispute the charge directly. They told me I had to call a customer service number -. I spoke to - who would not help as he
to do anything stating the dispute process had to play out. 6 ) I submitted the information to Barclay 's Bank via their website on -/-/- and called their collections department after my -/-/- call to - -, again requesting they cancel the unauthorized charges. The call and complaint was initiated due to me being informed Barclay 's was making collections calls to - - and trying to elicit payment via fraudulent statements made to her on the telephone ( that the charges were owed ). 7 ) On -/-/- I confirmed the complaint issues made on -/-/- with Sue of the CFPB via - ) On -/-/- Barclay 's called account owner - - - trying to collect the unauthorized charge and associated late fees ( no other charges exist on the closed account ) 9 ) I called Barclay 's Bank and again told them to void the unauthorized charge and associated fees and stop calling - - ( -/-/- CST, -/-/- ) - spoke with -, representative -
