Credit monitoring or identity protection account terms and changes

Credit monitoring or identity protection Account terms and changes Vermont
I was linked to the Transunion website when I inquired about a free credit report. My understanding is that Vermont residents are entitled to - free credit report per year. The only membership portal I saw when I linked to site was apparently for a 7 day trial for $1.00. It was not made clear that this was the incorrect portal for the free credit report. I was charged for membership services that I did not ask for. I contacted customer service and was told that their policies are very clear and that the charges are nonrefundable. During the call, I was offered a free month and a reduced price for refreshing '' membership. I declined these offers and stated that I wanted the service cancelled immediately and requested to speak with a supervisor. I was told that the supervisor would not be able to help me, as they are bound by the same policies. The supervisor I spoke with told me that the only way to get the free report is through a separate website. He then said that he would refund one month of charges ( $17.00 ). I am not satisfied with this outcome or the customer service I received. I feel that this company is aware of the confusion and does not want to rectify the issue as it benefits them financially and are operating in a predatory and dishonest fashion.
