Commerce Bank Credit card department,
I applied for a new credit card so I could take advantage of a zero percent interest rate on a balance transfer. With my application I requested a $7000.00 balance transfer to pay off another card. I was only approved for $4000.00 and Commerce Bank automatically did a balance transfer for $3800.00. They added a balance transfer fee which put me over my new credit limit immediately. I did n't ask for the - amount at any time. I am concerned about negative credit reporting and additional fees and even the lose of my new zero percent interest rate. I feel this is against the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and is not fair and responsible lending to set me up for failure in this way. I called the bank and they said they do not report on my card. I would like my credit line increased or the balance transfer fee waived so I 'm not over my limit. I also want confirmation this will not impact my zero percent interest rate.
