I was notified by IRS -/-/- that I had been a victim of Identity theft which I was advised to check my credit report as well. When I checked my credit report I found two accounts that I did not recognize. They were - and Monterey Collections. Once I found this I contacted the credit reporting bureau to place a fraud alert and to dispute those items. Debt collection cont'd attempts collect debt not owed debt resulted from identity theft November 16, 2016 - I was a victim of identity theft and noticed a collection from MONTEREY COLLECTION / MONTEREY FINANCIAL SERVICES I 've attempted to dispute multiple times however no response on their end. Not sure what else to do. Police department told me to contact the federal trade commision which I wrote a formal complaint against MONTEREY COLLECTION / MONTEREY FINANCIAL SERVICES in regards to this matter. I pulled my credit report found a $15000.00 (!! ) ) bill from montery collections in -. I sent a debt validation letter they sent back a letter stating the defaulted account will continue to be reported accordingly '' it 's in dispute and on my credit!!! Copy letter attached. The computer printed generic contract does n't have my signature, just a printout. They did not validate the debt, nor answer all my questions asking for copy contract my signature, copy their bond and license number, copy papers showing I agree to pay, nothing. They ... |
