Credit reporting company's investigation Problem with statement of dispute Tennessee

Account -/- Account # - was closed on -/-/- because of non payment from prior marriage. The company claims last payment to be -/-/- which I believe is date sold to collection company not my last payment date. My last paid date was prior to -/-/- and should not be on credit report because statute of limitations. I have disputed this with all - bureaus and Transunion is the last to not remove this derogatory. I would like the proof from -/- as to there claim of a -/-/- payment which I assure is incorrect and not a generic response from Transunion. This derogatory is hurting my ability to acquire home loan. The statute of limitations has run out and should be deleted. please investigate the issue. thanks -
