I filed a complaint with the CFB against Citi Bank regarding a $300.00 bonus that Citi initially refused to pay, but was later honored. The day they credited my bonus ( -/-/17 ), I initiated a transfer to move the funds to - Bank. The amount of my deposit plus the $300.00 bonus was $10000.00. I transferred the funds. I logged into Citi on -/-/17 and noticed the account was overdrawn by $34.00 ( the exact amount of the fee ). I later discovered that Citi does not make pending credits available for withdrawal until posted. I do n't agree with this since the amount the amount displayed as available for withdrawal was $10000.00. I called Citi, and the credit the $34.00 fee back. Now the account was at a - so I requested to close it. They complied with my request. On -/-/17 I noticed the funds from - were placed back into the Citi account. The original transfer never went through. I was charged another $34.00 fee. They refuse to reverse the fee because the account is closed. I am also unable to access my money because the account is closed. They are penalizing me for the same transaction twice. They also tell me it 's likely I 'll receive a check in the mail for the balance of my account. They are very unhelpful.
