We received a promotional letter in -/-/2016 from Citi Preferred Credit Card informing us that we would receive 5 % cashback on everyday transactiaons, if we used their transactions for purchases during the holidays, up to -/-/2016. This 5 % cashback was supposed to be applied to the statement balance following the cycle, and would reduce the statement balance immediately for that period. This went well for the first month. Between -/-/- and -/-/2016 ; we made approximately - $ in purchases using this card, and a cashback credit of - $ ( 5 % of - $ ) was applied to the statement balance on -/-/2016. Noticing that it was working, we spent - $ on the card between -/-/- and -/-/2016, hoping to receive approximately - $ cashback on the next statement ( -/-/- ). However, only about a - $ credit was applied to the -/-/- statement balance, whereas we were supposed to receive - $ ( 5 % of - $ spent till -/-/2016 as per the promotional terms ). We called customer service numerous times, but kept getting transferred, and we were first told by a representative - that the credit would be applied on


reflected on the account and we would receive a letter in the mail. Instead, we received a dubious letter stating that we had called to inquire about a cash advance, which we never did. In all, Citi Preferred Card is not honoring their own promotion, whereby we were supposed to receive 5 % cashback on transaction made between -/-/- and -/-/2016 ; whereby we are supposed to receive - $ cashback ( as we made - $ worth of transactions ). Upon calling customer service, we are being harrassed and mistreated, keep on getting transferred and are now receiving dubious letters in the mail and email about things we never inquired about, instead of dealing with the actual cashback issue we have.
