My IRA was due in - so I wanted to rollover the account to a different bank. I had another IRA due in - so I suggested I put the IRA into a term to coincide with the -/-/- IRA. I can have only one rollover for IRA a year. When they were due, ( -/-/- IRA ) and -/-/- ( grace period 10 days ), I suggested a transfer of one into the other to meet the one rollover a year Internal Revenue rule. They let me do that, but would not let me have the money since they said it was - AND THE SYSTEM WOULD NOT LET IT GO THROUGH. I waited 2 hours to get that answer. I WAITED till - -/-/-, since the previous - ( bank closed ) and - the system would not go through ( they said ). When I went to the bank on -, they said because it was a transfer of one IRA into another IRA I had to wait a period of 7 more day ( -/-/2017 ) or incur a penalty. I said because of the delay I would incur another penalty since the IRA ( due -/-/- ) had transferred into the ( 13 month due -/-/- ) instead of closing in the 10 day grace period because of their delay. They assure me they would waive the penalty, but I am not so sure. I am not so sure I will be getting my check for the total the coming - ( -/-/2017 ) at all.
