Citibank Credit Card Complaint

Arbitration

Citibank Credit card department,

Arbitration Illinois

Citibank sent me 2 letters of new terms for 2 accounts ( accts - and - ) which have been closed for over 5 years. I did not receive letters for my 2 active accounts ( accts - and - ). Part of the new terms were that my accounts would be subject to arbitration. I found it unusual not receive letters for all of my accounts. I could reject arbitration by sending a letter stating my rejection. I sent a blanket letter for all Citibank accounts. I received 1 letter acknowledging my rejection for a " closed '' account ( - ). I also received a letter stating that Citibank was rejecting my opt out of arbitration because they said it was n't received by the due date. That account - was opened in - -. I never received a letter stating new terms for that account. My understanding of the law is that a card issuer can not change the terms within a year of that account 's opening. I suspect that there never was a letter sent explaining new terms because they could n't change the terms yet. Also for the 2 accounts that I did receive the new terms, it states on the cover letter that I had until - -, -. Obviously Citibank received my blanket letter as they confirmed the rejection on one account. I have already called them and they are overwhelmed in their " back office '' with customer calls. Probably because they screwed over thousands of other card holders. My account, Citi Thank You Premier, - was opened on - -, -. I want no arbitration on this account. I think Citibank needs to be fined for breaking the law.
