Equifax Credit Reporting Complaint

Credit reporting company's investigation no notice of investigation status/result

Equifax Credit reporting department,

Credit reporting company's investigation No notice of investigation status/result California

I have a Collection Account on my credit report under the name of - - in the amount of $1900.00. -/-/-, all of my family members were receiving calls from this company looking for me, however, would not share any information with me regarding this debt. I filed a complaint with the - on -/-/- indicating that this company needed to provide me information or cease & desist the collection process. The case at - is # -. The results of that investigation was that - - agreed to refrain from further collection calls in regard to any relevant account. On four ( 4 ) different occasions I have faxed and mailed these documents to Equifax to get them to remove the negative entry on my credit report. On the two occasions that I faxed and mailed them the information, no action was taken at all. On the third attempt, I was given the Equifax Confirmation # - and Dispute # -. When I contacted them to get status, I was told to go on line to get dispute status, however, on line the status area is blank. They indicated that they mailed me results on -/-/-, however never received,

paperwork I sent was in the file and should be removed off of my credit file in 48-72 hours. The new confirmation number is # -. Once again, I was told that they mailed the results on -/-/-. I called back today, -/-/- to get status of the dispute as once again, the status field is blank. I contacted them again today, only to be told that they mailed me the results as well as emailed me the results. I have no results. I have NEVER received results on the 4 attempts I have made to get this handled. I do believe they have 45 days to send me the results and all of the pertinent information. Yes, they have my correct mailing address and yes they have my correct email address. During today 's conversation, I was told that there is no paperwork in my file and that I now need to start this process all over again. I began this process on -/-/- and have yet to receive any resolution, or any documentation at any time in order to confirm this debt currently listed on my credit report. I do not believe that Equifax has my best interests at hand, and I do believe that the information that they have published on the Dispute Status is not accurate because there is NO INFORMATION! The information in unattainable. It asks for the confirmation number, my SSN and my last name, says results completed, but NO INFORMATION AT ALL. As of today, -/-/-, they are asking me to begin this process all over again, as if it 's my first attempt at getting this cleared up. Why ca n't they share any of their " completed '' information with me? I do believe this is a violation of Consumer Law. I have been attempting to clear this up for for nearly 19 months and have been asked to start the process all over again. This is unacceptable on so many different levels. On a side note, I sent the exact information to - in -/-/-, and the - Collection Account was REMOVED IMMEDIATELY!!!!
