Incorrect information on credit report Account status Texas

I co-signed a note with my granddaughter for an automobile. In 2014 she stopped paying for the vehicle so I voluntarily surrendered the vehicle to the financial institution and began paying the remainder of the loan. Since that time I have made all payments on time. Equifax has shown the voluntarily surrender to be within the last several months instead of 2014 and will not correct the information. This falsely lowers my credit score and makes me look like a bad credit risk.
