I received a letter in the mail from Sears Credit Services congratulating me on being approved for an upgrade to the Sears Mastercard. It indicated that I will automatically be upgraded to the mastercard unless I decline by calling - or visiting card offer.searscard.com by -/-/2016. I phoned the number and learned that my account was a closed account, which I knew and wanted to keep it that way. When I was transferred to a customer service representative who could help I was put on hold and then hung up on. I do n't want any additional credit and I do n't feel Sears or - should be able to " open '' an account automatically unless I decline their offer, especially on an account that is already in a closed status.
