When I bought a mattress at Sleepy 's -/-/- they suggested I pay for it with a Sleepy 's credit card that was free APR for 18months - the purchase was roughly $2200.00. I agreed, though I 'd been planning to pay for it outright - I got the card and had roughly - $ a month automatically debited from linked account. When I saw my balance jump from $1100.00 to $2000.00 -/-/-, I called immediately ( -/-/- ) and the man said I could pay the true $1100.00 balance as a lump sum and close out the account - which I opted to do. I gave him the number for my - checking account and he said it would n't go through - I had him try several times and it did n't work -which did n't make sense. He said to call my bank and see if there was some block on a certain amount and to call back to finish the transaction. I checked with my bank - there should n't have been an issue, they did n't even see that Synchrony had tried to debit my account. When I called back over the next week, I got hung up on twice. When I got through today -/-/-, they said the option to pay the lump sum expired on -/-/- - so now I 'm stuck with the $2100.00 balance. This seems corrupt, unfair, and predatory - furthermore-I believe they actively did not accept my payment on -/-/- to prevent me from being able to pay off the lump sum. Please help! I only want to be held responsible for the balance of the original sum.
