On or around -/-/-, before my travel, I contacted American Express ( AE ) and informed them about my travel. From -/-/-, thru -/-/-, we made several calls to AE to discuss credit card account ending : -. However, none of the AE representatives ever asked for any financial documentation, they asked income related questions but never asked to provide any documentation, On -/-/-, while I was in - I received an email from AE asking for financial documents ; I was given 14 days to provide these unspecified documents. It is my understanding that per Credit CARD Act of -/-/-, a creditor shall provide a written notice not later than 45 days before any significant change. I tried to send a reply, but the email was returned undelivered. So I went online to have a chat session with -, an AE online account specialist. - put a note on the account about me being in - and to provide needed documents on my return on or about -/-/-.

I notified AE at least two weeks before my travel -/-/-, if any documents were needed why AE did not ask at that time. -/-/- AE blocked further transactions on my account without any notice. I chat with - on -/-/-, and he put a note on my account. - did not inform me that -/-/-, is too late, and AE would cancel this account. On -/-/-, I paid my AE account number ending : - in full. I paid $5300.00 and kept this account current and in good standing. On -/-/-, while I was on a travel trip in -, I was robbed -. After the robbery incident, I notified American Express ( AE ) about this unfortunate incident. After coming back to USA on -/-/-, I filed a claim with American Express ( AE ) and on -/-/- I received a letter from AE, denying my claim. The above reference Purchase Protection claim - # - ) was denied by AME- - -. As of this day I have not received any written notice and given no reason for the cancellation of this account. AE violated their purchase protection policies, prejudice my claim and closed our current and good standing account so they can ignore this claim.
