Pro collect initially contacted me about a debt I owed an apt complex, -. I then contacted the apt complex and after discussing some errors, they reduced the amount from $1600.00 to $900.00. The manager also sent me an email confirming that change. I sent it to pro collect and they refused to correct the error. I contacted the - and filed a complaint, at which time Procollect stated they would correct the error. They did not. I contacted pro collect to settle the debt for the $900.00 and pro collect responded by stating that the $900.00 was a settlement offer only if I paid it in -/-/-, which if you see the email from the apt complex does not state that it was a settlement, and it is dated more than a year ago, not last month. I offered to settle at $900.00 on Wed - - and pro collect refused to accept $900.00 on that date. I disputed the debt with the credit reporting agencies, and pro collect verified the debt as $1600.00 after I submitted proof it was corrected.
