U.S. Bancorp Credit Card Complaint

Closing/Cancelling account

U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,

Closing/Cancelling account District of Columbia

Issue : - US Bank credit card was opened in - - : account - - For 9 months payments were made on-time and frequently - One scheduled payment in - - was returned unpaid by my bank - immediately corrected - In - -, a second scheduled payment was returned unpaid by my bank - Due to this second returned payment, US Bank elected to close the credit card account completely - In doing so, US Bank confiscated - reward points earned over the lifetime of the account, valued at $2800.00 Notes to complaint regulator : - This is the third complaint I am filing against US Bank with various organizations - The credit card agreement of the above-referenced account clearly says that US Bank may close the account at any time for any reason - The credit card agreement also mentions that when the account is closed, all earned reward points will be forfeited - I therefore can not and am not disputing the contractual legality of US Bank 's actions - I am, however, filing a complaint on the basis of extremely unfair and predatory actions - While it is perfectly acceptable that US Bank may decide

close the account at any time without paying on earned rewards - I am simply asking US Bank for a goodwill gesture to honor the reward points earned on my account. - In doing so, I would also like to alert the complaint regulator that such a credit card agreement policy ( all rewards are forfeited upon account closure ) can pave the way for such predatory practices against consumers such as I am experiencing. From my research, many other large banks have recently removed this policy altogether.
