Wells Fargo & Company Credit Card Complaint

Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement

Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,

Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement Oregon

Hello, I am retired, and I recently had some trouble with my credit card. My husband and I are getting older, we are both -. We recently hired someone to go over our finances, because at our age it is very hard for us to keep track of everything. Anyway our financial advisor went over our books and he asked us about some transactions that stood out and most of them we knew what they were, but one company we did not know. Our financial advisor researched the company and said that he was very skeptical of the company. When he called them they had no records for us and could n't tell us what exact business they were in. At that point we knew something was amiss. Since the transaction was done on my Wells Fargo Visa, I thought we were protected because they have a $0.00 fraud liability thing in their contract. So we called them to report the transaction as fraud on -/-/2016. They told me that it should take about 7-10 business days. We got a letter dated -/-/2016, stating that the charges were valid and authorized, however I never authorized these charges and I told them that over the phone. They sent me another letter dated -/-/- which said that because I continued to pay my bill that I authorized the transactions. I hate to say this but I am - years old, and I always pay my bill. That is part of the reason we hired someone to do our books, because truth be told we are just not able to do it very well anymore. Me paying my bill has nothing to do with me authorizing the charges, I have never even heard of this company. I also filed for a reconsideration with Wells Fargo and stated that I had never heard of this company and that I always pay my bill. They sent me a denial letter for reconsideration dated - -.
