Toyota Motor Credit Corporation Consumer Loan Complaint

Vehicle lease Managing the loan or lease

Vehicle lease Managing the loan or lease Massachusetts

I recently returned a lease to Lexus, which was financed through Lexus Financial Services. As part of the negotiation to return the lease and enter into a new lease, Lexus agreed to settle the remaining balance on my account. The account had a balance of $1800.00. Lexus applied a waiver for that amount to my account, which I can see is posted on -/-/2016 when reviewing the online account history. However, I recently received a notice from Lexus Financial Services indicating that I owed a balance of $1800.00. The notice was dated -/-/2016 and indicated that I needed to pay that balance in full on -/-/2016. I contacted Lexus Financial Services on -/-/2016 and was informed that my account had been placed with the -. I spoke with a representative ( -, ID # - ) and he informed me that he did not see the transaction in that amount in the notes he was reviewing on the account ( which is separate from the accounting system ), and that my account still has a balance of $1800.00. He informed me that the waiver was not a payment on the account, and rather that the balance was moved to a closed - number account. None of this had ever been explained to me when returning the lease, and when talking with the dealer they informed me that the balance would be settled in full. No one had ever explained that I would have a " closed account '' established for this balance and that the balance would be due immediately. I am concerned that this was a deceptive act on behalf of the dealer and Lexus Financial Services, and that they led me to believe that I had closed my account in full when in fact the balance was moved to a separate account without my knowledge.
