A few years ago, I lived at an apartment in -, NJ and used - - - as electric/gas service provider. Upon leaving that apartment in - 2014, I paid the balance owed on my account. A full year later, I received a call from a collection agency stating I had a balance owed which I immediately disputed and requested proof of debt. They never provided me this information and ultimately lifted the collection from my credit report. Now another year later, I noticed a new collection account had been added to my report for the same balance in question to which I disputed with the credit bureau. Keep in mind, this new credit agency never contacted me prior to placing this new collection on my account and has also never provided me proof of any debt that I owe. These companies should not be able to report whatever they wish on one 's credit report without substantiation while giving the consumer no recourse. Please help!
