I contacted Ditech, my current company, about refinancing my - mortgage and the service rep that I was assigned to said I qualified for a - refinance. And he stated that the only documentation that I would need would be a home owner 's insurance policy - page. I currently have a 3.5 % interest rate with Ditech. I only owe 20 more years, and -. They are quoting me a rate of -, 30 year fixed, in which I have to buy down my rate??? ( which is higher than my current rate ) and tack on $4400.00 in fees to save a measly $110.00 a month and pay for 10 more years than I currently owe. This makes no sense. When I look online it says - rates are - percent not, - percent. And on the - website it says I should expect around 1.5 % in fees associated with the refinance, which would only be $1700.00, not $4400.00. I have sent them several emails asking why the rate is higher than posted rates ; I have asked why they are adding in $4400.00 in costs, and they have not responded. I do n't think they should take advantage of homeowners in this way.
