I am a male. My husband and I are both males. We both recently applied for a credit card from discover. Shortly after we received a phone call from one of their representatives. After confirming my information he said that i was approved for a credit card. Then i asked him to check my husband 's application status.
Then he asked to talk to my " WIFE ''. I repeated again that he is a male. After that he said " Oh boy! '' I asked him twice : " Did you just say that? ", He did n't answer. He asked his name and he said that he ca n't understand me and he wants him to call the same phone number back and talk to someone else. I was shocked that this kind of discrimination can happen at such a big company like discover especially on our first day of our business relationship. I called his supervisor to complain about his behavior. I was able to record that call. After a couple of hours she left me a voice mail confirming the whole situation and she said that the person is just going to be reprimanded and trained. I called her and asked to cancel my credit card. She said that she can try to do so and will call me back the same day. She never called back. I 'm so upset with Discover especially after they still want to have a homophobic employee working for them after " training ''. This situation is horrific and not acceptable.
