I was involved in an automobile accident where -. I contacted my insurance agent to find out what my options were as far as repairs were concerned. They told me that my comprehensive coverage would pay for the repairs and my out of pocket expense would only be $50.00. When I picked up the vehicle for the repair shop, I was told that it was covered under my collision coverage and not my comprehensive. Therefore, I had to pay $250.00 out of pocket instead of the $50.00 my insurance agent told me. I contacted the claims office and they notified me that under my policy, this was correct. If I had hit a deer, dog, or other animial, it would have been $50.00 but because I hit - at no fault of my own, I had to pay out $250.00. I was lied to and misled by - and the people I pay each month to know my insurance policies inside and out.
