This account was originally a JC Penney credit card that was opened in -/-/-. Because of financial problems at the time I was unable to payoff the balance of $75.00 at which time GE Capitol assumed the debt and adding additional fees. I do n't know how or why - - assumed the debt and they are claiming the account was opened in -/-/-. This original debt with JC Penny is well over 7 years old but it still appears on my credit report.
