My husband took out this school loan, and I was the co-signer due to his credit. I was n't thrilled with being a co-signer but I did it -/-/-.My husband tried to resolve the monthly payment situation with Navient for - - , but it was not getting resolved due to some late payments by him, Navient was calling incessantly and harasssing me to pay his school loan off. I told them '' I not a bank '', an can not afford to pay this total amount. I asked to be taken off the loan as co-signer. I do n't want or need the headaches, or harrassing calls from Navient. - and - from Navient -/-/-, told me If I were to pay them, $4000.00, I would be released as Co-Signer, of the student loan, and I would never receive any negative information on my credit report pertaining to this. - and - told me that the credit report would say- '' paid in full, satisfied loan requirement. - Balance for Co-signer When I pull up my credit report all ( - ) companies have reported it as a Charge off, Bad debt, Unpaid balance and reported as loss. I would have never ever paid them - to still have this negative information reported on my report. They took my money, and did not honor their side of the agreement. If I did not pay them the - dollars my report would still say the exact same thing. Navient is a big scam!! I would like to get my money back and find out who really took it.
