Wells Fargo & Company Credit Card Complaint

Credit determination

Credit determination Texas

I opened a Secured Credit Card with Wells Fargo in - 2014 with an initial collateral deposit of $300.00. I was told, upon review of my positive account history, my account was eligible for graduation to an unsecured card. I used the card for a year, made my payments on time, if not paying in full, never went over my limit, and kept careful watch over the card. I called Wells Fargo and requested a $100.00 increase to my credit limit, which required another $100.00 collateral deposit. I used this limit for a while. Last year, I called and asked a banker what was keeping my account from graduating into unsecured, and if it is not eligible for graduation I would like to cancel my card. She informed me to " hang tight '' and do not close it yet as I was " very close '' to graduation. She specifically told me that I should be graduated within the " next two months. '' Here I am a year later, still on the secured card from Wells Fargo. They now tell me that there is no way that they can tell when the

When I first got the card, my credit score had a few blips on it, all of which were taken care of in the first year of having my card. Since then, I have been able to increase my credit score to - with no collections or late payments on my account. They are now telling me that my credit score is something they take into account, and that may be a reason why they are not graduating me. I feel that it is unethical, and possibly illegal, to promise me a credit card will be unsecured " in two months, '' if that is not the case. Now, the phone bankers are eager to try to pull a credit report and get themselves a " referral credit '' in trying to open me up a brand new account. I keep refusing this, as I am not wishing to have a hit on my credit report for their referral credit.
