To whom it may concern : I opened a Wells Fargo Everyday Checking in - 2016 online as there are no branches near where I live and my son ( an existing Wells Fargo customer ) told me that there was a promotion that Wells Fargo was running. Given that Wells Fargo is - the strongest banks in the country, I thought it was a good opportunity to open an account and start a relationship in case I needed future products like credit cards or mortgages as well. I subsequently received my account number, debit card and debit card PIN in the mail. I returned the required signature card after I signed it as well. However, there is a fraud alert on my account which I discovered after I could not sign up for online banking successfully. When I called into the fraud department on - -, 2016, I was not given any help that was even remotely useful. I was told that I have


Attached are my driver 's license and passport to verify my identity. Finally the bottom line is that if you are n't going to be helpful and clear the fraud alert and allow me to set up online access to my account, then just close my account and return the $50.00 that I funded the account with as soon as possible. I had such a poor experience talking to your fraud department that I have no interest in calling in to speak to anyone at Wells Fargo. Otherwise you are illegally holding my money. Also, you should stop wasting people 's time if you are going to put fraud alerts on their accounts without giving them a proper ability to clear them. Do n't bother letting people open up the accounts online then if they do n't live near a branch if that is how you are going to do your fraud alerts. That is very easy for you to set up and would have saved both you and me all this trouble. Sincerely,
